Mount Pleasant/Titus County Chamber of Commerce to host

Let’s Put Mount Pleasant on the Map workshop

to help small businesses succeed on the web.

Mount Pleasant/Titus County Chamber of Commerce is helping small businesses grow their presence online with a Let’s Put Mount Pleasant on the Map workshop, which will feature a lesson about getting found on Google Search engine and Google Maps. The workshop will be hosted on June 15, 2016 at Mount Pleasant/Titus County Chamber of Commerce, 1604 North Jefferson Mount Pleasant, Texas from 12 PM to 1 PM

Let’s Put Mount Pleasant on the Map is part of Google’s Get Your Business Online program and aims to bring community members, business owners, and civic leaders together to help small businesses succeed on the web.

“4 out of 5 consumers use search engines to find local information nearby, yet only 37% of businesses have claimed their listing on a search engine,” says Soo Young Kim, Head of Small Business Engagement at Google. “Small businesses are the engine of local economies and when they flourish, their communities do as well.”

Let’s Put Our Cities on the Map is a program designed to empower communities to support their local businesses and encourage them to get on the map. Local businesses keep our communities strong; when we help them succeed on the web, they make our communities even stronger. The Get Found on Google Search and Maps workshop is a Google presentation hosted by Mount Pleasant/Titus County Chamber of Commerce. Visit www.gybo.com to learn more about the program and get involved.

Please RSVP here: Lets Put Mount Plesant On The Map

There is a $10 Fee for the workshop to cover lunch.

Mount Pleasant/Titus County Chamber of Commerce Awarded Three Stars bu U.S. Chamber of Commerce

Accreditation with the United States Chamber of Commerce is the only program of its kind that defines excellence in chamber planning and recognizes chambers for outstanding contributions toward positive change in their communities. The purpose of the U.S. Chamber’s Accreditation Program is to facilitate continuing excellence in the chamber industry and to foster a pro-business environment across America.

There are over 800 chambers that have participated in the program since 1964. Currently, 213 chambers carry this distinction. With aproximately 7,000 chambers in the United States, Accreditation with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is a prestigious honor that distinguishes the high quality, expertise, and strong leadership displayed by Accredited state and local chambers of commerce.

WHY BECOME ACCREDITED?

By earning Accreditation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a chamber shows its dedication to:

  • Reviewing, improving, and promoting strong business practices
  • Recognizing leadership and outstanding contributions to the community
  • Supporting the principles of free enterprise and promoting pro-growth policies at federal, state, and local levels
  • Establishing best practices and staying in-step with industry changes

“Accreditation validates a chamber as having programs that benefit its local economy and positively influence its community,” said Raymond P. Towle, IOM, CAE, U.S. Chamber vice president of Federation Relations and Institute for Organization Management. “We applaud these organizations for advancing the principles of free enterprise.”

Local and regional chambers are rated “Accredited,” “Accredited with 3 Stars,” “Accredited with 4 Stars,” or “Accredited with 5 Stars.” State chambers are rated “Accredited State Chamber,” or “Accredited State Chamber with Distinction.” The final determination is made by the accrediting board, a committee of U.S. Chamber board members and chamber CEOs from across the country.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business federation representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions, as well as state and local chambers and industry associations.
